What's new in 2.0.61
- Ultra accounts, Max 20x by its new name, have no 5-hour limit, only a weekly one. Kairos now holds them to their week and reads their room, use and cost from it.
- A session that stops on a passing API error, such as a response that stopped arriving or an overloaded service, is now asked to carry on once the service answers again, a few times over the next hours. Turn it off with claude-rotation config.
- Only your own macOS account can reach Kairos on your Mac. Another account on the same Mac can no longer read your sessions or steer them.
- An API key Kairos takes out of rotation when its credit runs out comes back once it has credit again, even when cswap failed partway through taking it out.
- Chats, and the questions you keep, are no longer lost when Kairos starts while your Mac is locked, as after a night-time update. Delete All Chats now removes every copy of them.
- With the disk full, Kairos no longer says a task put off for later, a Night Shift chore or a switch was saved when it was not.
- Each release now says what is new, here and on kairos.matihlabs.com.
- Tokens, API calls, helpers, context and cache are now shown for each model as well. Today, History, each account's tokens and the dashboard list every model, and the API call charts can show one model at a time.

Kairos needs Claude Code on your Mac; the login it already has becomes your first account.

Download Kairos, open it, and drag Kairos onto Applications.

Open Kairos from Applications. The first time, macOS asks whether to open an app from the internet: click Open.

Click Set Up Kairos. It adds two background items and, if your Mac has none, downloads Python, so it needs the internet; then it walks you through your accounts.
That is the last download: Kairos keeps itself up to date.
Your data stays on your devices.
Kairos has no account of its own and keeps nothing of yours on a server. It reads what your tools already keep on your Mac, and talks only to the services you use, with your own sign-in. Away from home, your iPhone reaches your Mac through Kairos's relay, which passes only encrypted messages it cannot read. No analytics and no tracking, on this page too. Privacy policy
