Files and logs
Where Kairos keeps its settings, history and logs on the Mac, what each file is, and what to keep or remove.
Everything Kairos keeps is on your Mac, in your own user folder. Nothing is kept anywhere else: see Privacy.
Where things are
| Path | What it is |
|---|---|
~/Library/Application Support/ClaudeRotation |
Kairos's data: settings, history, logs. The sections below go through it. |
~/.claude-accounts |
One Claude Code config folder per account, each signed in by Claude Code itself. |
~/.local/bin/claude-rotation |
The command line. |
~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.claude.rotation.plist |
The scheduler: it runs a check every interval. |
~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.claude.rotation.dashboard.plist |
Kairos's engine and the web dashboard. |
The other coding tools keep their accounts in homes of their own (Codex's CODEX_HOME and the like). See Other coding tools.
Settings and state
In state/ under the data folder:
| File | What it holds |
|---|---|
config |
The rotation settings. See Settings and config. |
history.sqlite |
Each account's limits over time and every event. It is kept, never rebuilt: History and the week plan read it. |
fleet.sqlite |
A small index of Claude Code's session transcripts, read as they grow, for Sessions, Usage and Laurels. |
resources.sqlite |
The memory and CPU your sessions used over time. |
git.sqlite, git-sizes.json |
What sessions did in git, and the repositories' sizes. See Repos. |
disk.sqlite, disk-held.json |
Who holds the disk over time. See Disk. |
actions.sqlite, actions-cap.json |
GitHub Actions spend, and the daily limits. See Actions. |
override.json |
An account you chose to keep. See Rotation. |
caps.json, use-by.json, billing.json |
Caps, use-by times and bills. |
key-budgets.json |
What each API key has left. |
later.json, nightshift.json |
Work for later and Night Shift. |
baton.json |
Sessions marked to hand off. |
anomalies.json |
Unusual use found, and the sessions asked about it. |
guard.json, keep.json, stalls.json |
Sessions the capacity guard asked to pause, the ones you keep working, and the ones asked to carry on after an API error. |
primed.json |
The 5-hour windows Kairos started. See Priming. |
laurels.json |
Laurels. |
deeper-insights.json |
The Deeper insights switch, what was last sent, and what came back. |
pair/ |
The iPhones and iPads paired with this Mac. See Pairing. |
engine-token |
The key the apps and the dashboard use to talk to the engine, new each time the engine starts. Only your account can read it; never share it. |
Other folders under the data folder:
| Folder | What it holds |
|---|---|
logs/ |
The logs below. |
browsers/ |
Each account's own Chrome. See Chrome window. |
carry/ |
The claude.ai pages your sessions published, kept on this Mac. See Pages. |
chat/ |
Where Ask's turns on Claude run, when Deeper insights is on. |
relay/ |
Where Kairos's messages to your sessions are sent from. |
Logs
| File | What it holds |
|---|---|
logs/rotation.log |
One line per check: outcome=…, reason=…, the account chosen, and every switch, sign-in and setting change. claude-rotation logs shows its last 100 lines. |
logs/scheduler.out.log, logs/scheduler.err.log |
What the scheduler printed. |
logs/dashboard.log |
The engine's own log. |
A log that passes 1 MB is renamed with .1 on the end and a new one is started, so there are at most two of each.
In your repositories
.kairos/baton.md, in the folder of a session marked for Baton: the handoff. The.kairosfolder ignores itself in git..claude/worktrees/kairos-…, on a branch namedworktree-kairos-…: a task from Work for later or Night Shift. Review the branch; nothing merges by itself.
Removing Kairos
claude-rotation uninstall (or Remove Kairos… in the Mac's Settings) removes the background agents and the runtime and keeps your accounts, logs, settings and history. To start over completely, remove the data folder as well, after you have removed Kairos. Your account folders in ~/.claude-accounts are your Claude Code logins: remove an account with claude-rotation remove-account, which signs it out first. See Install.
