Hardware

Your Mac's CPU, GPU, memory, disk and network over an hour, a day or a week, and who used each — every session, the apps, and macOS.

Hardware shows what your Mac has and how hard it worked: its CPU, GPU, memory, disk and network, and who used each one. It is the whole Mac, every app and macOS, not only your sessions.

Above the parts, one line says what the Mac runs on, for example "Apple M2 Pro · 10 CPU cores · 16 GPU cores · 16 GB memory · 494 GB disk".

The parts

Part The chart Who used it
All Every part together over time, with who used them at the time you pick (the Mac app and the iPhone). At the time picked.
CPU "100% is one core": a Mac at 250% is using two and a half cores. Each one's average.
GPU "100% is the whole GPU". Kairos reads it as Activity Monitor does, with no admin rights. Each one's average.
Memory Memory in use, out of the Mac's own. Each one's average.
Disk The disk's space first, then Disk activity: what was read and written each second. What each one read and wrote.
Network What came in and went out each second. What each one sent and received.

Range picks the last hour, day or week. Above the chart a line sums it up: "avg 240% · peak 610% at 7:47 PM", or "4.5 GB read and written · peak 120 MB/s at 7:12 PM". On the web, Table shows the same readings as rows.

Who used it

Each session, each app Kairos saw, and macOS and other users (what the Mac used that no one Kairos sees accounts for), with how much it used and its share of the whole Mac. The smallest are folded into one row.

When something is missing

It says Meaning
Kairos cannot read this Mac's GPU. This Mac's GPU has no reading Kairos can use. On the web the GPU part is hidden.
Nothing used it in the last hour. No session ran then, or the Mac was asleep.
Reading this Mac… The first reading is on its way.

Kairos measures the Mac while a session runs, a reading each minute. Gaps in a line are times with no session running, or the Mac asleep.

Memory short opens Hardware at Memory; Disk filling and Disk low open it at Disk. See Unusual use.

On an iPhone, an iPad and the web

On an iPhone, Today's Hardware card ("Your Mac's CPU, GPU, memory, disk and network, and who used them") opens it as a sheet. A wide iPad has it as a tab. The web dashboard has it as a section, CPU first.
