iPhone and iPad
Kairos Code on iPhone and iPad
How the iPhone and iPad app is laid out, the flow from Today to every screen, the iPad's tabs and split view, links that open a screen, and what the phone can change on the Mac.
Kairos Code shows what Kairos runs on your Mac: the same screens as the Mac's window, read from the Mac. It keeps nothing of yours on a server, and it has no sign-in of its own. Before it shows anything it needs a paired Mac: see Welcome and the tour and Pairing.
iPhone
An iPhone has four tabs:
| Tab | What it is |
|---|---|
| Today | Everything at a glance, and the way into every other screen. See Today. |
| Sessions | Every session on the Mac, the ones waiting on you first. See Sessions. |
| Laurels | The week, scored. See Laurels. |
| Settings | The paired Mac and the switches the phone can change. See Settings. |
The other screens open from Today:
| Screen | Opens from Today | As |
|---|---|---|
| Accounts | The accounts card, or an account | In place, with Back |
| History | The usage chart | A sheet |
| Week ahead | The week card | A sheet |
| GitHub Actions | The Actions card | A sheet |
| Repositories | The repositories card | A sheet |
| Hardware | The hardware card | A sheet |
iPad
A wide iPad shows every screen as a tab, in the Mac's order: Today, Accounts, History, GitHub Actions, Repositories, Hardware, Week ahead, Sessions, Laurels and Settings.
In a narrow Split View or Slide Over, the iPad behaves like an iPhone: the tabs only a wide screen has open from Today, and if you were on one when the window narrowed, Today opens it for you.
The flow
- Today says what needs you: moments, sessions waiting on you, insights.
- Tap one: a session opens in Sessions, an account in Accounts, a forecast in Week ahead.
- On a session, send it a message, change its model or open its resources. On an account, open its menu: switch, cap, use up by, pause, and the rest. See Accounts.
- Ask (on Today, or "Ask about this" on any card) answers in words, rows or a chart. See Ask.

What the phone can change
The phone acts through the Mac, with the Mac's own rules: switching accounts, caps, use-up-by times, pausing an account, renaming, adding or removing an account (the sign-in opens in the Mac's browser), sending a session a message, putting work off for later, Chrome ("Open Chrome on the Mac") and the Mac's settings in Settings. Anything that needs a browser or a password happens on the Mac.
When the Mac is away
- At home, on the same Wi-Fi, the phone reads the Mac directly.
- Away, it reads it through the relay, end-to-end encrypted.
- If the Mac is asleep or off, the screens keep their last reading and say the Mac is not answering.
