Week ahead
The week plan — whether the forecast is covered, what the plans cost, what expires unused, the forecast by day, the events the plan reacts to, each account's part, and Plan again.
Week ahead is Kairos's plan for the next seven days: how much work it expects, which accounts will carry it and when, and what would go unused. Work is counted in sessions: one session is an account's 5-hour window used up to the limit ceiling. Money is what your plans cost, never what the work would cost at API prices.
The three figures
| Figure | Meaning |
|---|---|
| All hours covered | Every forecast hour has an account with room. Otherwise "Short from Thu 18:00": the first hour the forecast runs out of room. |
| $323 plans a month | What your plans cost a month, from each account's price. "2 free until Oct 2027" and "1 not priced" follow when they apply. See Accounts › Price. |
| 2.5 sessions expire unused | Room the forecast leaves unspent when weeks reset. "· $40 of plans" adds what that room cost. |
A figure turns terracotta when it needs attention: a forecast that runs short, or sessions that would expire.
Forecast by day, in sessions
A bar for each day. Each bar is the work Kairos forecasts for that day, from the same hours over the last seven days, split by what covers it:
| Colour | Covered by |
|---|---|
| Sea | No weekly limit: accounts with only a 5-hour window. |
| Bronze | Weekly: accounts with a weekly limit. |
| Olive | API key: keys, which bill per token. |
| Terracotta | Not covered: work no account has room for. |
The plan serves the forecast first-expiring-first: accounts without a weekly limit, then weeks by when they reset, then keys. Read aloud, the chart says "Tuesday 1.1 sessions, 0.3 not covered; Wednesday 1.4 sessions".
Events
What changed since the last plan, newest first: a window reset, an account Kairos stopped, a switch, a limit hit. Kairos plans again when one arrives, and at most every few minutes. "None since the last plan." when nothing did. See The week plan.
Each account
One row per account, in the order the plan spends them:
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Account | Its name. A * means "Not measured yet: priced at the median of the measured accounts". |
| Plan | Its subscription, or "No weekly limit", "Weekly", "API key". |
| Planned | Sessions the plan gives it this week; for a key, dollars. |
| Sessions left | "3.2 of 7.0": what is left of its week out of a whole week. "no limit" for an account without a weekly limit. |
| Week resets | When its week resets. |
| Goes first | When the plan first starts new sessions on it. |
| Expires | Sessions of its week the forecast leaves unspent at its reset. Point at it for its share of the plan's week. |
New in 2.0.69, each account in the Accounts list also says when the plan spends it: "planned Fri 09:00", or "planned now". See Accounts › The plan.
Plan again
Plan again asks the next check to plan the week afresh ("Plan the week again at the next check"). If it could not ask, the reason shows above the figures.
When there is no plan
| It says | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Learning how you use your accounts; the first plan comes after a few checks. | Kairos needs a few checks of history first. |
| Add an account, and Kairos plans its week. | No account yet. |
| Rotation's order is off, so the week is not planned. | Weekly-first is off (claude-rotation config), so rotation keeps no order across weeks. See Configuration. |
| Arrives with Kairos 1.11.1 on the Mac. | The engine is too old. See Updates. |
On an iPhone and iPad
Today's Week ahead card shows the first and third figures and opens the screen as a sheet; Done closes it. A wide iPad has it as a tab. On a phone, the account table becomes "Each account", one row per account with what is planned, what is left and what expires. The web dashboard has the same plan in dollars at API prices ("Forecast spend by day"), with a Pace vs even column; see Web dashboard.
